Trump plans more foreign rallies, says Secret Service must protect him Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said on Saturday he will continue to hold outdoor rallies, ignoring the US Secret Service's suggestion not to do so following an assassination attempt earlier this month.
“I WILL STILL CONTINUE TO CONDUCT OUTSIDE MEETINGS, AND THE SECRET SERVICE HAS STRICTLY APPROVED THEIR OPERATION,” the former president wrote on his Truth Social blog. “THEY ARE GREAT AT DOING THAT. NOBODY SHOULD EVER BE ALLOWED TO STAND UP OR STOP FREE SPEECH OR RECRUITMENT!!!”
Trump was injured two weeks ago when a 20-year-old gunman opened fire on him at a campaign rally in Western Pennsylvania. The FBI on Friday confirmed that Trump was shot in the right ear.
