Three peacekeepers were injured in an explosion in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL said
BEIRUT (Reuters) – Three peacekeeping troops were “slightly wounded” when an explosion went off near their clearly marked UN vehicle in the village of Yarine in southern Lebanon, UNIFIL spokeswoman Andrea Tenenti said on Sunday.
“All the peacekeepers who were monitoring the peace returned to their place safely,” the police spokesman said, without giving further details on the nature of the explosion.
“We are closely monitoring this incident. We strongly remind all parties and actors of their duty to avoid injury to soldiers and civilians.”
