It will be long after the election, of course; and never, if he wins; but it may just be justicethe willdone. Shouldn't that be one of the great things about our country? That everyone is presumed innocent until proven guilty – but that no one is above the law?

We are all full of complaints. This one, from Senator Sanders yesterday, got me to click:
Dear friend,
As I'm sure you know, this is no ordinary election.
It is not a normal election when we are running against a liar.
It is not a normal election when we are running against a person who has been convicted of 34 crimes.
It's not a normal election where our opponent is a convicted sex offender and, as a private businessman, was involved in 4,000 cases – which shows a complete lack of credibility.
But it's worse than that.
When Donald Trump said that “no one” showed up at the 10,000 person Harris-Walz rally in Michigan that was broadcast live and widely covered by the media, that it was all AI, and that Democrats cheat all the time, there is a method to his madness.
Clearly, and dangerously, what Trump is doing is undermining American democracy and laying the groundwork to reject the election results if he loses.
If you can convince your supporters that the thousands of people who attended the televised rally did not exist, it will not be difficult to convince them that the election returns in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and elsewhere are “fake” and “fake.”
It should not be a secret to anyone. Trump's mission is to destroy faith in American institutions and the rule of law and push us further into an authoritarian society.
But it's not just Trump's dishonesty and authoritarianism that must be overcome.
We cannot elect someone who believes that, in the year 2024, women do not have the right to control their own bodies. For the sake of our children and future generations we cannot elect someone who believes climate change is a “hoax.”
This is why we must do everything we can to see that Trump is defeated and Kamala Harris is our next president.
But we must do more.
We must not only defeat Trump, but we must build a strong grassroots movement that can confront the extraordinary greed of the big money interests that have so much power in our country's economy and politics. Our goal: a government that works for everyone, not just the few.
Yes. We need to overturn the terrible Supreme Court ruling on Citizens United and move forward on public funding for elections. Billionaires should not be able to buy elections.
Yes. We need to join the rest of the industrialized world and guarantee health care for all as a human right, not a privilege.
Yes. We need to raise the minimum wage to a living wage and make it easier for workers to join unions.
Yes. We need to address unprecedented levels of income and wealth inequality and demand that the rich and big corporations start paying their fair share of taxes.
Yes. We need to build millions of units of low income and affordable housing and increase rents.
Yes. We must end the absurdity of having the highest child poverty rate of almost any major country, make the child tax credit permanent and invest more in child care.
Yes. We must strengthen public education in America, pay teachers the salaries they deserve and ensure that everyone, regardless of income, gets the higher education they need to achieve their dreams.
Bottom line. We live in an important time in American history. In the next three months let's roll up our sleeves, come together and do the hard work that needs to be done to defeat Trump and elect Kamala Harris as president.
And let's understand that there will be no progress on these issues or any other issues that the working people of this country care about if the Republicans control the House or the Senate.
So not only do we have to win the presidential race, but it's important that we fight and win down-ballot races.
But no one person can do that alone — not Kamala Harris, not Tim Walz, not any candidate anywhere in the country. It will take all of us stepping in to help.
So I am once again asking for your financial support:

There are a few policy positions that I disagree with – paying taxes kills the incentive to build new homes, which leads to housing shortages.Moreit's expensive – but overall, as always, Bernie believes it.
One of you sent me a long list of stocks, asking if you still hold them (and me?).
Almost all of them have declined, for two reasons:
> First, I made a lot of rotten – or, at least, terribly timed – suggestions.
> Second (as he explains), “those who went up went into my DAF, so there is a high percentagedownshares here.” [DAF = Donor Advised Fund. The two biggest are at Fidelty and Schwab.]
He writes: “I really appreciate your portfolio. “I made a lot of money because of you.”
Reading his list, it's hard to imagine how.
ANIX— $3.19. One of my smart guys thinks the drug test will fail – the stock goes to zero. One thinks they will succeed – the stock is going to the moon. How can I resist?
FANH— $1.40. Last years suggested about $6, we sold about $20 and $35. . . not because I had the idea that it was going to fall and fall and fall, but simply because the high had been noticed and it was time to get better prices. As an example, . . .
CNF– $1. . . . a different Chinese consumer finance company that was somehow related to FANH, that same friend who thought (when it was $4) could be a duplicate of FANH, a quintupling. Instead, it was a disaster. If the numbers are to be believed (with a Chinese company, even bigger than usual), the stock is trading at three times the profit! My friend has a ton and thinks that one day we will get our reward. I don't know anything – but he certainly doesto hearmay we reap the reward. And yet I am very stubborn to sell.
GLDD– $9. Many of us buy it at very low prices. I still have a little. Itit shouldit's been a good infrastructure game, but I wouldn't rush to buy it here. Maybe at some point it will be available for $15?
OPRT— $3.13. One of my favorite moonshots for those who really have money to lose.
SQNS$0.55. They were supposed to be found for $3.03, and many of us took at least some of our small profit of about $2.80 – the proceeds were in escrow! I counted my chickens with great confidence! – and it all fell apart based on some French tax laws or something I don't understand. Now it may come to zero. But for 55 cents, I bought more.
YTRAcost 1.34 $. There are a lot of Indians, and they are leaving. If the stock goes back to $4 or $5, I might sell.
BKUTK— $367.50. Oh, look! Real mature stock (albeit small, illegal) that pays . . . wait for it. . . benefit! A carefully managed community bank, worth almost twice what it's selling for if management cared about the stock price, but they really don't. So I collect my 5% dividend and I'm still standing.
BOREF— $1.75.My original stupidity. The WheelTugit is possibleit's still happening. If it does, the drinks are on me.
HYMC— $2.24. You haven't changedmy opinion. He's still holding on. (Note the 1-for-10 reverse as I paid 22 cents; at today's price, it's not tenfold, it's basically flat.)
KLTR— $1.23. He's still holding on. As with all of these others, you can use the search box to read anything I may have written about these klunkers in the past.
PRKR$0.16. Will the justice system ever give this company a break? If so, even with a bazillion shares left, the stock could double or triple. Even if it is slowly disappearing, one more nail in the coffin of the US Patent System.
RECAF$0.77. I hope that renewable energy grows so fast that we will never need the fuel that this company probably lives on. But I am very stubborn to sell.
RNGE$0.30. High hopes – like everything above, only with money we can't afford to lose.
VNRX$0.57. People don't care about their animals??? This company should make a fortune now! A friend who raised it at double the rates today says he doesn't understand why they aren't doing better. I haven't sold a share yet, but I'm not particularly hopeful.
