CatX welcomes new chief insurance officer to spearhead establishment
He joins a firm with experience in client management and production roles as well as risk exposure skills in traditional risk transfer and more.

Digital platform CatX has announced the appointment of Jon Wood as head of origin.
CatX founder and CTO Lucas Schneider said Wood's more than two decades of experience will be useful in the firm's operations.
“With more than 20 years in the industry, Jon will help us find attractive opportunities for our funds and accelerate the flow of alternative funds into insurance,” said Schneider.
Benedict Altier, founder and CEO of CatX said Wood's appointment is in line with the company's interest in new sources of capital.
“Jon's leadership will be key to driving our strategy and helping us better align risk and new capital,” said Altier.
Who is Jon Wood?
Wood has over 20 years' experience in the industry, his most recent role being in Aon's repatriation team where he helped shape and implement the company's global strategy and drive high-value transactions across the international repatriation market.
Prior to Aon, Wood held senior positions at various firms such as Willis Re and Guy Carpenter. He is experienced when it comes to client management and manufacturing roles where he has provided his expertise in traditional and alternative risk transfer solutions.
In his new role, Wood will be working with the company's reinsurance, retrocession, and global trading teams to better leverage the platform's revenue for their clients.
