Espoo, Finland “Nokia today announced a collaboration with RUCKUS Networks, a CommScope business, to create a new solution for deploying seamless connectivity across the building and campus, specifically designed for the needs of various industries. This partnership provides an integrated fiber and Wi-Fi solution to deliver broadband service within MDUs, offices, large facilities, hospitality, medical facilities, and other business segments.
Fiber is a game changer for campus and building connectivity due to its ability to provide future-proof capacity while significantly reducing energy consumption and total cost of ownership. In addition to providing a single network for all services, it is important to connect Wi-Fi access points. The combination of fiber and Wi-Fi brings robust and scalable connectivity to all mobility, IoT, and digital transformation systems.
This joint solution combines Nokia's leading fiber-based Optical LAN business RUCKUS Network's industry-leading Wi-Fi and switching solutions, creating an integrated infrastructure.
Jaimie Lenderman, Principal Broadband Analyst at Omdiasaid: “As the demands for broadband access continue to grow, this partnership demonstrates the ability to align like-minded goals to provide fiber-based solutions that can support diverse network needs across various industries and verticals.”
According to Bart Giordano, SVP and president, Networking Intelligent Cellular Security Solutions, CommScope: The partnership between Nokia and RUCKUS Networks will change the economics of on-campus connectivity solutions for companies and verticals. As a single solution, we can now provide everything needed to quickly set up a LAN that can deliver fast, reliable, and secure access services. It will also allow us to future-proof their networks and ensure that the next generation of additional services can be delivered easily.
Sandy Motley, President of Fixed Networks at Nokia, said: Fiber is an amazing technology with a variety of benefits. Like Optical LAN, it can reduce energy costs by 40% and TCO by 50%. Combined with RUCKUS' industry-leading Wi-Fi portfolio, we are creating a campus connectivity solution that will allow businesses to grow their business, reduce their costs, and become more sustainable.
