List changes were announced by Mosaic Insurance, Carbon Underwriting, BMS Group, and Smart Choice.
The team is growing with 13 new partners
Mosaic Insurance is expanding its natural risk capabilities, bringing 13 experienced professionals on board as part of a strategic effort to grow its business across the Americas.
The expansion represents a new phase in the development of Mosaic's environmental credit division, which was introduced less than two years ago as the company's seventh product line. The new hire (pictured above) is spread across the US, expanding an established team of seven environmental risk professionals based in London, Toronto, and Philadelphia.
Duggan will serve as head of environmental claims; Domenicone, Grassl, Horn, MacDonald, Reilly, Stedman, and Weber as senior vice presidents; Enderlin, Sweeney, and Zavistauskaite as VPs; and Dehnavi and Terzulli as assistant presidents.
Jim Finnamore, global head of environmental responsibility at Mosaic, commented: “This accelerates our growth in the US, Canada, and the Americas more broadly, and paves the way for faster engagement with broader markets across the region at a time of greatest need. .”
The expansion comes on the heels of Mosaic's move into a landmark office on 42nd Street in New York City and the hiring of Toby Smith as CEO of the Americas.
The head of the Syndicate management arrives
Carbon Underwriting, which manages syndicates CBN 4747 and CBN 5757 at Lloyd's, has brought in Julie Gallagher (pictured below) to serve as head of syndicate management with immediate effect.
Gallagher transitioned to managing underwriter from Asta Capital, where he held a client management role. His extensive experience managing syndicate operations and growing relationships will be invaluable to Carbon's continued growth and innovation.
In his new role, Gallagher will oversee the operations and operations of Carbon's organizations, including Syndicate 5757, which has been given Lloyd's approval to start writing early next year.
In the 2025 accounting year, Carbon expects to handle £400 million in written premium.
“I am delighted to be joining Carbon at such an important time in its development,” commented Gallagher. “Syndicate management and fostering strong syndicate relationships is critical to driving sustainable growth and ensuring long-term success.
“Carbon's commitment to innovation, especially through the use of the Graphene platform, sets it apart in the industry. I am eager to contribute to this dynamic environment and help shape the future of the Carbon teams, especially as we begin the journey with Syndicate 5757.”
Names of the group are the sales officer
Independent insurance and reinsurance broker BMS Group has appointed UK-based Richard Dudley as group chief executive officer effective December.
With over three decades of experience, Dudley has held a number of senior positions in the industry, most recently as global head of climate strategy at Aon. His extensive background includes serving as CEO of Aon's commercial risk wholesale and specialty retail in London.
At BMS, Dudley will focus on developing the company's insurance platforms in London and Bermuda. His established relationships and specialist large business management experience will support the continued expansion of BMS London's specialist division, led by Ian Gormley.
Dudley currently serves on the Lloyd's Council, where he chairs two committees aimed at reforming the market. Additionally, he is a former chairman of the London & International Insurance Brokers' Association.
BMS chief executive Nick Cook said: “Richard brings an incredible wealth of experience and will play a key role in supporting BMS as it continues to grow. His extensive expertise in both specialty and reinsurance, as well as his relationships and history of working with colleagues, insurers, regulators, and clients worldwide, will be instrumental as BMS expands its international footprint. “
The agent system selects the financial manager
Brandon Flinchum (pictured below), a seasoned professional with two decades of experience at Forvis Mazars, now works as chief financial officer at Smart Choice, an agent program under the Worldwide Insurance Network umbrella.
While working at one of the largest public accounting firms in the US, Flinchum held several roles, including his most recent position as managing director of the Triad certification process.
Smart Choice President Andrew Caldwell explained: “With $130 billion in acquisitions last year, and a tripling of EBITDA from year-end 2022 – the time was right to add a seasoned professional to our team.
“Brandon was on the Forvis Mazars team that audited our finances years ago, so he is very familiar with our business plan.”
CEO Joe Fisher added: “Brandon and I serve on the board of the United Way of Greater High Point, where he recently assumed the position of board chairman.
“His leadership skills and initiative are critical not only to our outstanding growth at Smart Choice, but also to our mission to give back generously to our community.”
