Trump says “I hate Taylor Swift!” in Truth Social post By Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Sunday attacked Taylor Swift, voicing his “hatred” for her just days after the pop star singled out Democratic rival Kamala Harris.
In all caps posted on his Truth Social media account, Trump wrote, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!”
Shortly after last week's Trump-Harris debate, Swift informed her 284 million Instagram followers that she plans to vote for Harris, who is currently the vice president of the United States, “because he is fighting for rights and causes that I believe need a hero to champion.”
Trump initially dismissed Swift's endorsement of Harris by simply saying he's “not a fan of Taylor.”
But since then, with public opinion polls showing that Harris is gaining significant ground over Trump in what is expected to be a close November 5 presidential election, the former president has combined his rhetoric against one of the most successful recording artists in history.
Swift's endorsement of Harris has drawn more than 9 million “likes” to her Instagram account, fueling speculation that it could boost the Democratic Alliance's chances of winning the presidential election.
