Leaders from Airbus, Swiss Re (OTC:), Roche and others will appear at the October 7“8th event in Frankfurt
FRANKFURT, Germany–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Leaders from Airbus, Swiss Re, Roche, Post Office Group and other companies will gather at the third annual ISG Digital Business Summit DACH, October 7-8, in Frankfurt to discuss their plans and the prospects for AI and other emerging technologies to improve the customer and employee experience and drive growth.
Hosted by a leading technology research and advisory firm Information Services Group (ISG) (Nasdaq: NASDAQ: ), the event comes at a time when expectations for AI and GenAI are outpacing companies' actual knowledge of the technology. Recent research from ISG finds that businesses are less satisfied with their AI and engagement automation than other technology-based service providers.
Emerging technologies, overall, received the lowest CX score (70.1) in the second quarter of 2024 ISG Star of Excellence™ CX Insights Report, a quarterly review of business consumer feedback about their service and solution providers. GenAI is rated the lowest in the category at 68.46.
Balancing the benefits and complexities of using emerging technologies is one of the top challenges for digital business today, said Iain Fisher, ISG director and event host. Although our research shows a current gap between business expectations and knowledge about AI, this is not common among startups adopting emerging technologies. Companies will continue to invest in AI to gain a competitive advantage, but they need strong guidance and collaboration to succeed.
The ISG Digital Business Summit, which will be held at the SPARK event space, will explore the market trends, technological developments and changing consumer behavior that are driving business innovation today. Sessions will explore AI and machine learning, sustainability, new business models, the transformative power to simplify technology infrastructure, and improve the overall experience for customers, employees and technology users.
Zdravko Mladenov, former chief digital and information officer at the Post Office Group, will deliver a keynote speech on the first day of the event, detailing the effort to improve legacy technology in his organization, the largest retail network in the UK.
The first day will also include a discussion with Dave Drodge, who leads Roche's digital transformation, and Nick East, head of commercial for VML, a global marketing and communications agency, about the latest trends in the digital business market and its impact on businesses and industries. , and sessions led by ISG experts on the next wave of digital innovation.
On the second day of the event, Greg Ombach, senior vice president and group head of disruptive research and technology at Airbus, and Manu Pandey, vice president of customer experience for Swiss Re, will discuss how new AI-centric business models can improve industries around the world. in the panel discussion, New Business Models: The Promise of Generative AI.
Additional sessions led by ISG experts will explore a variety of AI approaches and simplifying digital infrastructure; improving cost and valuation tools; building an experience management office and a culture of quality service and dealing with sustainability within the latest German and EU regulations. The day will also feature entrepreneurs who pitch their business innovations to the ISG Startup Challenge to a panel of judges for audience voting.
Business customers expect that emerging technologies will deliver improved time to market, faster resolution of issues and better efficiency, but are unsure how to get to those desired results, Fisher said. There is great opportunity and expectation for service providers and partners to deliver insights into IT environments that can accommodate complex use cases and governance frameworks to reduce bias in AI algorithms, protect user privacy and address other ethical considerations.
