French Budget Minister confirms special tax plans for big companies Reuters
(Reuters) – French Budget Minister Laurent Saint-Martin reaffirmed on Thursday special tax plans for the country's largest companies, although he did not specify the exact details, as France aims for a budget squeeze of 60 billion ($66.2 billion) next year.
Saint Martin added that the new government's wealth tax proposals would affect 0.3 percent of French households overall, as the government aims to protect the country's low income and middle classes despite possible tax increases.
“Recovering public funds will have to be everyone's business,” Saint-Martin told France 2 TV.
He added that the government's current budget forecasts are based on a 1.8 percent decline in French property in 2025.
