Six Pakistani soldiers were killed in clashes with Islamic militants, the military said

ISLAMABAD – Six Pakistani soldiers, including a senior officer, were killed in an attack by Islamist militants in a peaceful northwest region of the country, the army said in a statement on Saturday.

Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Ali Shoukat, who said he was leading the soldiers when they were dealing with terrorists, is one of those who were killed in the North Waziristan region, on the border with Afghanistan, on Friday night.
