Southwest Airlines to face pilot union lawsuit over threats, threats Reuters
(Reuters) – Southwest Airlines (NYSE: ) was ordered by an appeals court on Monday to face a lawsuit by a pilots' union, which accused the carrier of violating union law by intimidating and punishing pilots for unionizing.
The 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said the union sufficiently pleaded that Southwest had anti-union animus, creating an exception that would allow the case to proceed instead of sending the dispute to arbitration.
It was reversed by a lower court judge who said the dispute should be settled.
