Similar to other apps where you can scan cash receipts, with the Amazon Shopper Panel app, you earn monthly rewards for sharing receipts.
Even with the latest changes, one of the best things about this app compared to others is getting a monthly reward instead of waiting a few months to get enough credit!
And, even if you're not an Amazon shopper, this will work for you as it accepts in-store and online purchases from non-Amazon sellers.
Here's everything you need to know about the app and how to get started.
How the Amazon Shopper Panel works
The app is very easy to use.
After making a purchase, click Receipt from the bottom menu.
Then, click Upload Receipt and you can take a photo from within the app or upload a photo you've already taken.
They say it can take about 6 hours to process a receipt, but ours is approved in less than 5 minutes.
Big update!
From 1 November 2024, you earn 10p for every receipt you upload.
You can make a £5 limit on receipts, meaning you can load up to 50 per month!
Before this, you used to earn a fiver with just 10 receipts. However, if you only give them 9, you won't earn anything, so while you need to give them more, you can at least earn 10p for one.
You can use eligible receipts from sellers outside of Amazon.
When you upload receipts from an online store, you can forward your purchase email to receipts@panel.amazon.co.uk from the email registered to your Amazon Shopper account.
In addition to receipts, you can complete short and quick surveys to earn more. The one I did lasted about 15 seconds and earned me 25p.

What types of receipts are eligible for rewards?
They accept all types of receipts from retailers and entertainment stores.
You can upload receipts from grocery stores, pharmacies, supermarkets, restaurants, cinemas, and theme parks.
- Receipts need to be less than 30 days old.
- You need to share the receipt before 11:59 PM UK time on the last day of the month to be eligible for that month's prize.
- The receipt must be clear, legible, and show the merchant's name and date.
- For receipts sent by email, the receipt must appear in the body of the email, and cannot include attachments.
What is preventing you from receiving the award
You don't earn extra money for sharing more than 10 receipts, and any extra you add doesn't roll over to the next month.
Anything you buy from Amazon.co.uk and other Amazon stores, including Whole Foods Market and Amazon Fresh, is not eligible and will be refused.
They will also not accept gambling receipts, housing and rent, transport, school or childcare fees, medical expenses, legal or financial services, handwritten receipts, non-English language receipts, and receipts from outside the UK or duplicate receipts.
How much can you earn?
Each month, you can get a set of £5 every month by uploading 10 receipts.
If you upload more than 10 you will not earn anymore. Also, anything over the limit of 10 will not carry over to the next month.

So, if you have a few eligible receipts from birth, you may need to hold onto them until the following month and use them within the 30-day eligibility limit.
In addition to earning money by scanning receipts, you can increase your rewards by earning more through in-app surveys.
They are only short surveys, and the amount you earn for each one will vary. You will get a notification in the app that there is a survey available, but I usually check the app just in case.
You used to earn an extra £2 every month by entering the ad verification in the app.
That changed on 1 October 2024, and now you'll get the most relevant surveys based on the ads you see from Amazon instead of the £2 prize.
How to issue rewards
When it comes to payment, you have two options.
Or, you can choose to get Amazon credit.
Your earnings will be added as credit to your Amazon balance every month, and this will be done automatically for you.
So, the next time you check out, your winnings will be automatically applied to the check out.
However, you may choose to save them and use them later (perhaps for Christmas/birthdays/any other purchases).
Or, you can choose to use your reward for a charitable donation.
You can choose a charity to donate to within the app (Alzheimer's Society, British Red Cross, Cancer Research UK, Marie Curie, RSPCA, Save the Children Fund). The chosen charity will receive 100% of the donation.
You can choose one prize per month and you can't split where your money goes.
When will I receive my rewards?
Amazon Shopper sends rewards to your gift card balance once a month.
This is usually between the first two days of the new month.
So, whatever you earn in May should show up in your balance on June 2nd.
You will also receive an email to confirm your achievement.
How can you join?
Getting started with the Amazon Shopper Panel app isn't a free-for-all.
Some customers receive an email invitation to download the app and can proceed to use it.
Don't worry; you can still join the waiting list if you did not receive an invitation.
For us, it took less than a month from joining the waiting list to being invited.
To opt in, download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store and sign up with the same email you use for your Amazon account.
As soon as a space opens up for you, you will receive an email.
What does Amazon do with receipts?
You share personal information with Amazon each time you upload a receipt.
While the Amazon Shopper Panel app is completely secure, they will be able to see how you shop and what you buy.
According to what they do after that:
- They use data from your purchases to combine with data they already hold to plan and measure ad campaigns they think you'll be interested in.
- Research results data helps with research on new or existing products, and data from research can be shared anonymously with third parties (although nothing related to you as an individual).
- They may use your shopping information to improve the selection of products offered through Amazon and Whole Foods Market, as well as content offered through other services such as Prime Video.
Frequently Asked Questions
Rewards are credited to your Amazon account as vouchers, so you must have an Amazon Account to join the Amazon Shopper Panel.
Download the app and register. You will receive an email when a position opens up.
You can add as many receipts as you want. However, you will only earn a reward for the first 10 receipts you upload.
If you don't have 10 receipts to upload per month, you won't reach the £5 reward limit. However, you will still cash out on any surveys you took during the month.
When the receipt arrives
If the scanned receipt comes back as invalid, and you think it should have been approved, you can ask them to review it.
Click on the Receipts option from the bottom of the menu, click on the receipt in question in the history and click on “Request Review”.
They will usually complete their assessment within 6 hours.
If, after uploading a receipt, you want to delete it for any reason, it's easy to do.
Find the receipt you want to delete, click the three dots in the upper right corner, and select “Delete Receipt”.
However, doing this in the current month will mean it won't count towards your 10 receipts for the month.
If you remove a receipt from the previous month where you have already received an award, you will not be affected.
Amazon stores data on receipts, responses to survey questions, and photos for up to 13 months.
You can view data on your receipts in the app for at least 12 months.
