US researcher Edison says Georgia election results suggest ‘vote rigging’ Reuters

TBILISI (Reuters) – American data and polling company Edison Research said on Friday that the difference between the polls that came out of the parliamentary elections in Georgia on Saturday and the official results of the vote “cannot be explained by standard deviations alone and suggests the level of local vote manipulation.”

The election commission in Georgia said that the ruling party Georgian Dream won with 54% of the votes, a result that the opposition parties and the country’s president called a fraud.

An Edison exit poll, commissioned by the pro-opposition TV channel Formula, showed four of Georgia’s opposition parties on track to win a majority in the election.
