Vietnam court upholds death sentence for tycoon in $12 billion fraud case By Reuters

HANOI (Reuters) – A Vietnamese court on Tuesday sentenced real estate tycoon Truong My Lan to death after rejecting his plea for fraud and bribery, media reported.

Lan, who is the chairman of real estate developer Van Thinh Phat Holdings Group, was sentenced to death in April for his role in a money laundering scandal worth more than $12 billion, the largest in Vietnam’s history.
