Donald Trump’s new meme: $Trump
“It’s time to celebrate everything we stand for: WINNING! Join my special Trump community,” Trump said in a social media post late Friday promoting the new tokens. They were marketed with an image of Trump with his fist raised above the words “FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT,” a reference to Trump’s response to an assassination attempt at a political rally in July.

In promoting the meme coin, Trump told supporters to “Rejoice!” The website selling the tokens says it is intended as expressions of support and not an investment opportunity.
How much money did the $Trump meme coin sell for when it was launched?
That doesn’t stop people from trying to make money. The Trump meme coins started selling for $10 each before rising to around $70 as of Sunday morning.
It went down a notch later Sunday after Trump and his wife, Melania Trump, sent him a meme coin. Melania’s coin was trading around $5 on Sunday afternoon.
What are meme coins?
Meme coins are a rare and highly volatile corner of the crypto industry that often start as a joke with no real value but can skyrocket in price if enough people are willing to buy them. Dogecoin, a cryptocurrency whose name is a very cute dog that combines things like “much wow,” is perhaps the most well-known.
Meme coins can be used by fraudsters looking to make a quick fortune at the expense of unwary investors.
Investors’ response to Trump’s meme character
Some crypto enthusiasts praised the release of the Trump meme character, saying it was a sign of support for the incoming president in an industry that felt unfairly targeted by the Biden administration. Trump promised to bring in crypto-friendly regulations and appointed crypto cheerleaders to key government positions.
Critics say the Trump meme can be a dangerous way for special interests and foreign governments to try to buy influence from the president.
The most dangerous thing in the country about Trump’s character is what follows. Now anyone in the world can deposit money into the bank account of the President of the USA with a few clicks. All interests – political, business or personal – are now for sale, openly.

“Now anyone in the world can deposit money into the bank account of the President of the USA with a few clicks,” said Anthony Scaramucci, former director of communications in the Trump White House, to X.
How Trump’s crypto coin came to be
The sale of the Trump meme was organized by CIC Digital, a subsidiary of the Trump Organization. The coin’s website said 200 million Trump meme coins are currently available, with plans to issue 1 billion over the next three years. CIC Digital and another company jointly own 80% of the Trump meme coins and will receive “trading fees derived from trading activities,” according to the token’s website.
