CARACAS (Reuters) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said at midnight on Monday that his re-election is a victory for peace and stability and reiterated his campaign for transparency in Venezuela's electoral system.

The results announced by the National Electoral Council contradicted the majority of exit polls that showed a significant victory for the opposition representative Edmundo Gonzalez.
