Fed's Bowman remains cautious on changing policy stance By Reuters

(Reuters) – Federal Reserve Governor Michelle Bowman said on Tuesday she remained cautious about any change in central bank policy as she saw lingering risks to inflation, warning that overreacting to any one data point could put the progress made against inflation at risk.

Bowman's prepared remarks at a bankers' gathering in Alaska showed his continued standing as one of the Fed's most ardent policymakers. While repeating for the second time that he is ready, if necessary, to continue raising rates as has been his previous position, he gave little indication that he is ready to approve a rate cut at the Fed's September 17-18 meeting, as is now widely expected.
