Harris has raised $540 million since launching his presidential campaign, according to Reuters
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Democratic front-runner Kamala Harris has raised $540 million in a little more than a month since she began her race for the US presidency, as donations poured in during the Democratic National Convention last week, her campaign said on Sunday.
A memo released by Harris' campaign manager, Jen O'Malley Dillon, said the $540 million raised included $82 million during the week of the convention and was a sign of Democratic enthusiasm for his candidacy.
“This is the biggest presidential campaign at this time,” he said.
Vice President Harris became president on July 21 when President Joe Biden stepped down under pressure from Democrats worried about his ability to reason after he stumbled during the June 27 debate against Donald Trump.
Harris' nomination has created momentum that has put Trump on the defensive and struggling to keep the media spotlight on him.
Harris and his running mate, Tim Walz, are taking their White House campaign on a bus tour across Georgia this week, looking to build support in the state as it approaches the Nov. 5 election.
