Thailand expects to distribute $4 billion in handouts in Q2 next year By Reuters
BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand expects to run the third phase of its bailout program in the second quarter of next year, when 140 billion baht ($4.06 billion) will be distributed, the deputy finance minister said on Wednesday.
The stimulus measures will help the economy grow by 3% next year, said Julapun Amornvivat, adding that full-year growth in 2024 will not exceed 2.8%. About 14.5 million have so far received their 10,000 baht ($290) payments, out of an estimated 45 million expected to be part of the government’s signature incentive program.
